We produce three types of dichroic ChameleonLab films

Our three basic films, with the names Magma, Sunset and Nightsky, are capable to separate the visible light into prismatic colors.

Magma

Magma 1

Photographed from a front-facing angle, the Magma dichroic film reveals deep magenta and purple swirls with yellow accents. When walking or driving past a building with this film installed in its glass, these colors would appear momentarily.

Magma 2

As you move past, the film transitions to electric blue and turquoise hues with pink undertones and neon green streaks, demonstrating how pedestrians and drivers experience this dynamic color-shifting effect in architectural applications..

Sunset

Sunset 1

Photographed from a front-facing angle, the Sunset dichroic film showcases deep purple and royal blue tones with magenta waves and subtle green iridescent streaks. When installed in architectural glass, pedestrians and drivers would first encounter these rich, twilight-like colors.

Sunset 2

As you move to a different viewing angle, the same film transforms dramatically to display brilliant yellow and lime green hues with purple accents and orange undertones, demonstrating how the film creates a dynamic, sunset-inspired color shift experience when viewed from different positions while passing by a building.

Night Sky

Night Sky 1

Photographed from a front-facing angle, the Night Sky dichroic film displays deep royal blue hues with pink waves and yellow highlights in the upper portion.
When walking or driving past a building with this film installed, these striking colors would catch your eye.

Night Sky 2

As you move to a different angle, the same film transitions to show a predominantly turquoise blue palette with subtle pink streaks and soft purple undertones, demonstrating how pedestrians and drivers experience these mesmerizing color shifts in architectural glass applications.

Each film features slightly different color tones that reflect, absorb, and transmit light.

ANGLE

The colors appear differently under natural sunlight and artificial light, depending on the angle from which the films are viewed.

NANO PARTICLES

No metals or pigments are used; instead, colors are created by transmitting light through hundreds of layers of nanoparticles.

COMBINATIONS

Additionally, we can apply custom layers on top of each of the three films, such as a black blockout, white diffuser, or colored filters like clear blue, red, or green.

Transforming Facades with Vibrant Chameleon Systems

We like to tell you more about our Chameleon Facade Systems. If you see the coloured impact of these systems on the facades of prominent buildings, then you know why we have chosen the name ChameleonLAB for our company.

Pioneering Unique Mirror Facades in Global Cities

These particularly coloured mirror facades have been applied in well-known cities and still we can call it unique.

ChameleonLAB is the company with know-how for this type of large scaled applications. We know the ins and outs of the product and know exactly how the product has to be reinforced to become a reliable facade system.

Premium Dichroic Films for  Architectural Facades

Durable Film for Exterior Glass

Chameleon is the brandname of a multilayered polymeric film with a polyester surface. The film is metal free so non corroding and conductive, thermally stable and low shrinkage.

As an OEM manufacturer ChameleonLAB is using a very thin film circa 30 micron, responsible for the dichroic effect, and adds all durable features on the basic film by cleanroom lamination. The endproduct has a thickness between 160-200 micron and meets the technical durability demand for a 5 to 10 years warranty. So the appliance on outdoor glass facades is ensured.

Vibrant, Versatile Film for Design and Engineering

Colors shift and shimmer with changes in viewing angle, light source and environment. Chameleon film can be used for a multitude of decorative and technical applications by designers architectural display and product engineers. It is engineered to obtain unprecedented levels of reflective vibrancy. Chameleon can be combined with suitable color substrates to produce various vibrant colors in both reflection and transmission.

Nature-Inspired Light Effects with Customizable Multilayer Film

Chameleon reveals the magic of the natural world. It creates marvelous light effects not through heavy metals, but by mixing up the placement of many ultra – thin layers of polyester. The concept is similar to how a rainbow works.

The color shifts and intensity of Chameleon can also be manipulated in a number of ways, creating a wide range of options for its use. A variety of color refractions can be achieved by changing the glass used, the laminates and the type of glue. There’s a customized solution for every design. The two sides of the film can be processed so that the magic of Chameleon is visible from the outside, while allowing natural daylight to penetrate on the inside.

Patented Inserts for Laminated Glass and Composite Facades

Chameleon can be used as an insert between safety laminated glass. (See our European Granted patent.) The use of Chameleon in composites is a whole other market sector. The first use of this kind was for a new façade coping on the oldest concrete building in the Netherlands.
